LAYOUT IDEAS

Before i begin designing the cards i have decided to create some rules for the cards so the over all work produced will have a consistent style.

i have looked into different ways in which i can layout the cards so that they share similarities.

so all the Kings will have the same layout as will all the queen and so on... this will create a diversity of style through out the cards and help make the deck feel more original. it will also make each card work well as an individual design as well as a set.

i have found through my research that the use of a minimum boarder, will allow me to create more detail within the designs, it will also authenticate the designs, as it will make reference to the style of playing cards from the 18th century. which is shown on my context blog:
