SELECTING FINAL CARDS.

i have decided to choose the final characters for the cards so that, i can start producing the designs for the cards. i want the cards to work well as a set on multiple levels, will create subtle references within my designs and allow me to explore the design side of the project to its full potential.

THE SUITS

HEARTS : GREEK- this could allow me to use a family based set to represent hearts (love)

DIAMONDS : EGYPTIAN- this will allow me to create four separate gods, which are the most representative form the Egyptian gods and work well as a set with the other suits, the rationale for this could be that the four sides of the Diamond are different. this will also allow me more leeway when choosing characters for the other cards.

CLUBS : NORSE- I have decided to choose characters from Norse mythologies for the clubs as they are based around strong Viking gods 'THOR'S HAMMER' this will allow the characters to work better with the Clubs Suit.

SPADES: ARTHURIAN- this suit can be based on the King Arthur mythology, therefore the dragon could be the joker, it will also work well also work with the spade icon, as it has british connotations.
